Sandra Hayes

I have experienced the teachings of Yoga and Ayurveda to be truly invaluable. They have transformed my health (both physical and mental), my energy levels and my whole life like nothing before. They have given me an understanding and a deep love for the world around me and have enabled me to live from a constant source of vital life energy.

And I believe that I can teach you the tools of these ancient wisdoms too, to be happy, healthy and free from suffering, to optimise your energy levels and live life to your fullest potential.

My Training

After having completed an initial 200 hour teacher training with Ashram Yoga Ireland in classical Yoga and some shorter additional teacher trainings in Ashtanga Yoga primary series, Yin Yoga and Yoga for kids, I have been studying the traditional system of Ashtanga Yoga in more depths with David Collins and Paula Herbert and have completed another 200 hour teacher training with them in 2017.

I have also completed a 250 hour study course in classical Yoga philosophy with Brenda Feuerstein and a 300 hour Advanced yoga teacher training at the Elbow room in Dublin. I have attended many additional classes and workshops to further my knowledge of Yoga and related practices with David Swenson, Manju Jois, Sudhir Tiwari, Gary Carter, Greg Nardi and more and hold additional certifications/qualifications as a Pilates (level 1 with balanced body) instructor, Barre instructor (Total Barre), Trauma sensitive Yoga (with Mandala Yoga Project) and TRE 1 (Trauma/tension relief exercises, NIBA institute Berlin). I have also completed my qualification as an ayurvedic Massage Therapist and Ayurvedic practitioner with the Ayurvedic Institute UK.

The study of Ayurveda, to me, has been like an important, missing piece of the puzzle. Finding it has provided an incredible source of knowledge and insight into all areas of life, including my yoga practice.

Through it, my teaching methods have evolved into a style that aims to keep a balance between our masculine and feminine energies, through an approach that is both dynamic as well as contemplative and steady and takes the practitioners needs into account.

It has brought healing and strengthening to my body and mind to an extent I can’t even describe.
During my time with the Ayurvedic Institute and through my own practice with clients I have learned so much and have seen incredible healing happening through harmonising our bodies and minds with our natural surroundings, which constantly reaffirms my faith in this incredible system.

In the past, I have been teaching in different areas of physical work (theater, dance and fitness/health related) since almost 30 years and I would like to think that teaching is what I will be doing in another 30 years to come.
